Angela has worked collaboratively with the business for a number of years, supporting both R&D and Patent box claims and agreeing claims with HMRC. Claims have continued to be enhanced in a number of areas, securing cash value in excess of £1m and a number of process efficiencies and documentation improvements implemented. HMRC recently met with Bright R&D and the business to review the claims and not only agreed them, but allowed additional costs to be claimed for 2015 – 2017 inclusive.


Innovative fire detection/suppression & protection company
Bright R&D stepped in to help this SME company with its R&D claims following HMRC enquiries being opened that the prior advisor struggled to deal with. Angela worked proactively with both the company and HMRC to agree two years claims despite some challenges around poor historic project documentation and specific information. A revised methodology was agreed to ensure claims are robust going forward, to be applied to future years’ claims.
